Back in Black

I will keep this very brief, since I'm in a hurry. I only have 2 questions to ask the president:

1)What is a non-combat troop?

2)How does keeping a military present of 30,000+ soldiers, or any military presence at all, ending the war?

I will also be blogging more now that the local activism scene is taking a breather. Winter Soldier in Austin was a huge success and so was the ensuing march.

In solidarity,
Bryan

Addition 2MAR09

The only change here is a change in the promise we were made to have our brothers and sisters home immediately. That turned to a year, which changed to 16 months to 19 months, which is the mid-term elections by the way, and now it is being compromised. What's to stop him from changing his mind again? It didn't take 19 months to send thousands more troops to Afghanistan. You want an exit strategy? HMMWV's, boats, planes tanks, and helicopters.

Hey, Kid!

Long time no see. What you been up to? How are ya? How's college going? Forgot!

Should have warned you that U of T Austin is ermmmm real liberal.

However, keep your head down, nose to the grindstone and get that degree.

Then hightail it somewhere else and get you a proper life going. Take care, Kid!

Dear Anonymouse; Qualify your line of thinking. How much humanitarian effort do you reasonbly believe it's going to take?

That is, to restore a civilization that was mercilessly ruled over and whose citizens were systematically eradicated by a tyrant

For instance, the government of Vietnam is exterminating the Hmong and Montagunard tribes of the Central Highlands....over 3 million have been killed.

Should the US back out of Iraq fast and let al quida return to cut the heads off of an un-armed population that is ill-equipped to defend themselves?

Better yet....How about for purposes of demonstration, this example.

You and me are face to face.

Now, we don't agree on whom is going to run the turf we're arguing over.

So, you argue and say talking is the best method of resolution. I punch you in the mouth.

What will you do? You going to stand there and keep talking to me?

Seeing your not going to do a thing, I punch you in the mouth again, knock you down on your butt.

You going to get up off the ground, stand there and keep trying to talk me down?

If so, the next thing I do is draw a knife, slicing you two different directions.

Are you going to continue trying to talk me down?

Now, instead of listening to you talking me into submission I have your mother and sisters gang raped.

The rest of your family has one of two things, heads cut off or shot dead.....

You still want to talk your way out of it?

The 3rd point of unity of Iraq Veterans Against the War is reparations for the Iraqi people. As for Al-Qaida returning to Iraq, it'd be kind of hard, since 1)They aren't gone, and 2)They weren't there until the U.S. invaded.

That's a fifty fifty call, Kid. Saddam was paying 'em 25 grand a shot to blow up or kill innocent people around the world every chance they got...

Clinton muffed it way back when you were in junior high or even starting high school to settle any *beef* with Bin Laden after the 1993 WTC bombing...

Now that third point you talk about???

Makes no sense what so ever. Iraq is more than plenty of capability to bring their shit online, now that things are calmed down some tp get in gear and bring their oil and gas reserves into production and re-pay the cost.

If anyone's due *reparation* it is you men and women whom went over there, fought for and kept the majority of them alive...

Cause Lord knows, our Congress isn't gonna reward you for it. Matter of fact, Congress wants to slip each of you Iraq vets the slimy weiner without so much as a a kiss or vaseline....

However, I'd still like to read anonymouses response to my earlier post.....you *knucklehead*, lol.

Glad to see you ain't slid that motorbike underneath mo cars too.....stay in touch. Was wondering....

That'd be an order, trooper.
